Kent County Cricket Club Flies out to Antigua for Pre-season cricket tour
The Kent County team will be flying to the Caribbean island of Antigua on the 7th March for a 10-day camp. The tour will be headed by ex West Indian Captain Jimmy Adams, the newly appointed head coach who has played in 54 test matches and 127 one days during his nine year career with the West Indies Cricket team which culminated with his appointment as Captain.
Jimmy’s aim will be to bring on the younger members and fine-tune the 1st team members to ensure a flying start to the English cricket season. There will be a number of practice sessions and three fixtures at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium and the Antigua Recreation Ground against some very stiff opposition from around the region.
The island of Antigua is steeped with cricket history and has produced cricket legends such as Sir Vivian Richards (who will be available for interview throughout the tour) and Richie Richardson who will be helping to co-ordinate and execute all the arrangements for the team whilst on the island.
Antigua has in recent years developed their sporting arenas and offers the perfect warm weather training conditions for cricketers who play for schools, clubs and county sides.
